Paducah River Painting Inc. is a state of the art full-service Marine Painting facility geared toward providing you with an environmentally friendly process to refurbish standard size barges. Your barges will be fully documented and paper trailed on the blasting and coating process so there are no environmental hazards.

As steel price trends, rise higher and higher it becomes a necessity to prolong the service life of your investments, which is where corrosion protection becomes a vital role.

The picture below shows this with very disturbing results.

The original coating was applied to the bottom and up to the three foot draft mark, as seen by the visible corrosion line.

The original coating was applied eight years prior to this recoating photo.

This makes for an alarming deteriation rate and shorter service life for your equipment.

We can also provide blast and coating inspections which are completed by a local “N.A.C.E.” certified inspectors. Your barges will be fully documented during the blasting and coating process which includes storage of all pertinent photos and documentation.

Today’s coatings are extremely complex. Minor formulation changes can drastically alter the characteristics of a coating. These minor formulation changes can affect the viscosity (the wet-ability of a coating), the cure time (or drying time), flexibility, elasticity, and durability. We have worked hand in hand with the manufacturer representatives and chemists of these products to give you the highest standards and environmental compliance that are needed and expected.

Some of the coating types available include
    Epoxy (high solids)
Glass flake epoxy (for extreme service)
Glossy alkyd enamels (for trimming and designation markings)
    Anti-skid (for deck safety)
Anti-fouling (used in the prevention of bio-organism attachment)
Acrylic polyurethane (where high gloss and color retention are required)

All of which can be matched to your desired color.
